Cultural Heritage
ACT assists with cultural heritage projects that incorporate the active involvement and participation of individuals and organisations in the local communities. Currently, there are seven projects supported by ACT to restore sites important to all the communities of Cyprus and to demonstrate and celebrate the wealth of diversity on the island.

ENGAGE: Civic Engagement for Reconciliation
The ENGAGE project encourages participation in reconciliation initiatives as well as engaging in policy-making. The programme will open up new opportunities for reconciliation, peacebuilding and the promotion of a culture of active civic participation.

Interdependence and Sustainable Development
This project intends to demonstrate the economic benefits businesses and ordinary citizens stand to gain by working and co-coordinating with the other community. The strength of this initiative lies in its strong grounding in research, which will examine the existing state of island-wide business interactions, and the potential to expand these efforts.

Multiperspectivity & Intercultural Dialogue in Education (MIDE)
This project seeks to strengthen the capacity of educators to assist with the development of methods to integrate new approaches to teaching. Furthermore, the project will promote the importance of multiperspectivity and critical thinking in social studies.

Participatory Development in Cyprus
While formal negotiations are in the domain of politics, it is clear that the acceptance of the negotiated solution must be owned and endorsed by all citizens. The aim of this project is to look to the future, and help people prepare for a post-settlement environment in which cohabitation will rest on the ability to make decisions together, based on a common multicultural vision of the island.

Youth Activism
The Cyprus Network for Youth Development aims to inspire and energise Cypriot youth to actively participate in efforts to support reconciliation between the two communities. Youth between the ages of 15 and 24 constitute one sixth of the total Cypriot population.

Confidence-Building Measures
This project aims to provide diverse technical and financial support to the ongoing reconciliation process, and in particular to confidence-building measures developed during that process.
Project Partners: These initiatives are implemented by UNDP-ACT in collaboration with the Technical Committees, Working Groups, and UN staff.
