Within the International Year of Youth, young Cypriots from both communities will talk about their experiences in research missions did in Northern Ireland, Bosnia-Herzegovina and the United States of America and their plans for the near future.

The aim of the training will be to help participants develop their cooperation and networking skills to be able to participate in the formation of policies and politics and to contribute to the reconciliation process. The training will be held in Greek. This is an event open to the public, with particular interest for NGOs, networks and civil society initiatives.

The Association for Historical Dialogue and Research (AHDR) Multiperspectivity & Intercultural Dialogue in Education (MIDE) project will be airing a series of radio programmes on Radio Mayis from September 2010 to July 2011 entitled "Historical Dialogue".  The duration of the programmes will be 90 minutes and will take place fortnightly.

 

The AHDR will be inviting individuals such as scholars, academics, union leaders etc. to participate in discussions regarding history education and developing historical understanding.  In addition, the aim of the programmes is to inform a wider audience about the news, activities and events of the AHDR and reach out to a wider section of the community through Radio Mayis, which has 5000 listeners.

On the occasion of International Peace Day the Youth Activism Project is organising a cultural event open to the public that will bring together performers and young people from both sides of the island in a celebration of peace through musical, dance and cultural activities.

This workshop will be led by conservation experts from Italy and is aimed at building capacity of stone conservators from both communities, based on hands-on demonstrations of stone conservation techniques in situ at the Armenian Church and Monastery in Nicosia. The specialist workshop is intended for conservators.

The CCMC Meet the Media – Press Kit Launch aims to bring together CCMC staff, civil society actors and the media and journalists to network and get to know one another a little better. CCMC will launch the public release of its show reel / press kit, so that civil society and the media has the opportunity to learn all about CCMC's objectives, goals and production styles.

The launch will also support the release of the Public Service Announcements from the ENGAGE project with a media booth to capture video and audio messages from guests about doing their part for peace.
