Mr Solomou was born in Cyprus, and educated in History at Cardiff University (BA Hons). He is currently a PhD candidate at Middlesex University. His PhD work focuses on the Methodology and Teaching of Cyprus History. He has attended numerous conferences and seminars in his area of expertise. He has been teaching World and Cyprus history for more than 30 years at the English School where he held the position of the Chair of the History Department. He has served as the Deputy Head-Teacher and Head Teacher at the English School and was involved extensively in curriculum development. He developed the English School University Placement and Careers Advice Centre. He was also involved in the 5-year development plan of the School. He is currently the Director of Intercollege at Nicosia and teaches History of Cyprus.
