Ms Poveda was born in Spain, and educated in Computer Science at University of North London, then proceeded to obtain a MSc in Database Systems from the University of Westminster (London). She worked as a Database Administrator for CSC Danmark, in one of the biggest projects of the Cyprus government (CILIS). Later, she formed part of the Enterprise Resource and Planning Team and she was in charge of the Databases Management, of one of the main Financial Companies in Cyprus. At present, she is working at the University of Cyprus, as a research associate, acting as Project Manager and involved in various European Projects.
